FAQ
Intro
This collection features a range of functional tableware, trays, and sculptural vessels. Each piece is made in durable stoneware and high-fired up to cone 10 (1280°C) in a manual gas kiln with a reduction atmosphere. By limiting oxygen during firing, the kiln produces deep, complex glaze reactions and textures that are entirely unique.
Because of significant variations in color and finish, we do not use "stock" photos, the item pictured is the exact piece you will receive. Please note that its appearance may vary depending on the lighting conditions under which it is seen.
Product Standards
-
Durable & Practical: High-fired for strength, perfect for daily use, and dishwasher safe.
-
Traditionally Glazed: Each piece features glazes inspired by historical recipes.
-
Food Safe: All glazes and unglazed surfaces are safe for food and drink (unless specifically noted otherwise).
-
Water-Resistant: Fired to vitrification, giving each piece a dense, hard, and water-resistant finish.
-
Surface-Friendly: Polished feet ensure your surfaces stay scratch-free.
What Is Stoneware?
In ceramics, three main categories are distinguished: earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain. Each differs in the type of clay used and the firing temperature, resulting in distinct mechanical and physical properties. High-fired stoneware has qualities close to porcelain, without the pure white appearance of porcelain.
When Is There a Restock?
The online shop is updated with a new collection of work every time we open the kiln. There is no fixed schedule, and restocks may coincide with external exhibitions.. Announcements are shared on my Instagram page, but the best way to stay informed is by signing up for my newsletter, where I share exact dates and times for upcoming restocks.
Newsletter
The newsletter is used sparingly, only to share information about restocks and exhibitions.
Why Prices May Differ Between Webshop and Exhibitions
Prices in the webshop reflect the production, materials, time, and craftsmanship involved in creating each object. When curated selections are presented at exhibitions, pricing may vary due to additional costs. Whether purchased online or in person, every piece is made with the same care and attention to quality
